City Select has had a permanent display at Chiles Peach Orchard since 2008. Set at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Chiles is a Charlottesville tradition and a favorite with visitors and locals alike. This site is very busy on weekends starting in late March with strawberries, then peaches and finally apples and pumpkins in the fall. As this tradition has grown, the facility, staff and offerings have expanded along with their popularity. Our City Select display of brochures, guides and menus is prominently positioned between vine ripened peaches on the left and yummy peach frozen yogurt on the right. Who can decide?
This year Chiles has added a wine tasting venue featuring Prince Michel Vineyard wines, and a cider tasting experience with Bold Rock Hard Cider. Both Bold Rock and Prince Michel are related to Chiles Peach Orchard, and sister site, Carter Mountain Orchard, in that grapes and apples grown here are used to make wine and hard cider. So when you visit either orchard, the tasting rooms are really the end result of what is growing right next to you in the fields! The Farm Market is chock full of local goodies like freshly picked fruit, vegetables, honey, jams, baked goods and even crafts.
Chiles Peach Orchard is a fantastic attraction that brings in visitors from all parts of Virginia and beyond. Our display of featured menus, attractions and maps & guides provide a wealth of resources to encourage more frequent visitation and to explore more!
Many times a visitor will go to a destination first, and then plan on exploring the community. One such busy destination is Highland, the home of James Monroe. Highland is an historic site and event venue, continuing Monroe’s tradition of welcoming friends, neighbors, dignitaries and visitors from around the globe. Each year, tens of thousands of visitors come to Highland to explore history, attend events and learn more about one of our Founding Fathers.
A few years ago, Highland wanted to highlight the great restaurants, attractions and visitor hot-spots in the area. Like most public facilities, this establishment is very particular about appearance. The goal is to host visitors at the historic home and gardens, not promote various outside organizations via a table, ugly wire racks or acrylic holders filled with unmanaged collateral.
They asked us to create a unique outdoor display for their covered entrance walkway that would prominently display menus, brochures and guides.
We crafted this display in a custom color that matched their historical exterior. Menus and brochures are professionally displayed as part of a larger presentation of the community.
We created each of our 70+ display locations to meet the aesthetic needs of our host properties. And we have earned premium, traffic-oriented locations to ensure that we always promote you and your message in the most favorable circumstances.
Professional and reliably replenished displays, and we keep the front desk staff informed about you and your organization. We have you covered!
This week, the Marriott Residence Inn is open for business. It is the first new hotel downtown in over 25 years and effectively doubles our downtown room capacity. The lobby and rooms are first class! We have been working with the hotel management for over six months preparing and positioning your message and receiving Marriott approval for our lobby display – it is a long process.
The display is located in the perfect position. 60% of those checking in do not know where they will eat dinner, so this display is located in the lobby by the coffee & popcorn machine – right next to the elevators. Our 15 year experience working with visitors is why we selected this spot, and we anticipate a high percentage of use.
Located on the North Grounds at The University of Virginia is the Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center. The Center adjoins UVa’s School of Law. Judge Advocates from all five Armed Forces of the United States attend the annual Judge Advocate Officer Graduate Course for which the Master’s Degree in Law is awarded. The Legal Center and School also trains new Judge Advocates and provides continuing legal education for Judge Advocates and lawyers from throughout the United States Government, as well as military allies from all over the world. It is the only school of its kind in the country.
The facility has 80 lodging rooms similar to area hotel rooms. Due to the popularity of this program, some in attendance are also housed in area hotels. In each of these rooms, guests will find a copy of our Discover Charlottesville book – the exclusive in-room resource about the Charlottesville area.
City Select has been supporting the mission of the JAG school for 13 years. Your menu or brochure is displayed in the main lobby, and is a very popular resource. Since the JAG Legal Center is military, security to enter the property and the building is very tightly controlled with armed guards, which means the amount of local information on display is limited to those with proper access.
Those in attendance (275+) are officers who have achieved a high rank and have a good disposable income. During off-hours, JAG school attendees regularly spend time dining at local restaurants and visiting area attractions, wineries and breweries. Often, this is their first time in the area, so they are eager to explore.
We are honored to work with the JAG Center, and we enjoy presenting our fine attractions and restaurants to these special guests in our community.
The new edition of the UVa Map & Guide is out now! Look for it at all area hotels, Visitor Centers, locations on Grounds and plenty of other sites in the area.
Also, check out www.UVaMap.com on your mobile phone! This directory has information and directions to all of the important buildings and departments on Grounds, as well as locations at UVA Hospital. Such a great resource!
